Newfor 2012 the Glastonbury Fringe takes place over 11 days from Thursday 21st June until Sunday 1st July. The event hopes to include music\, theatre\, dance and visual arts in a series of independently produced events and workshops it will take place in venues throughout Glastonbury town.

The new Music andArts Fringe is the brainchild of Sara Clay of Glastonbury CommunityDevelopment Trust\, is aimed at putting Glastonbury ? the Town ?back on the map by showcasing itsvibrant local music and arts sceneunder one banner and telling theworld about it in a series of independent local events drawing people into the 'real' Glastonbury.

Ray Keith DJ\, Producer\,Remixer\, Record Label Head Honcho\, Radio & TV Presenter and well-known counterpart in the UK and World Wide Music Industry has been onthe Dance Music circuit for at least 15 years. Born in the heart ofEssex\, Colchester\, Ray started hiscareer in small venues around Essex\, gradually building his name and venturing into bigger clubs around London. After finding his nichewithin the Drum and Bass music scene in the early 90s he managed tonotch up two of the scenes most memorable releases of all time TheRenegade Terrorist and The Chopper. Ray set up his record label Dread Recordings in 1994 and hasnt looked back. Now up to it 55th release and a decade later the label isstill going strong and has lead tomany collaborations with many artists such as Shades Of Rhythm\, Moby and Orbital to name a few. Overthe years Ray has also kept his ear to the ground by working in Londons most famous record shop\, BlackMarket\, making him a good all rounder in the Music business. Previously he has worked on Kiss FM andRadio Ones\, 1 in the Jungle radioshow but has finally come back tohis roots by securing a weekly spot on South East popular radio station Vibe105-108fm and his viewer base is continually expanding. Raysmusical taste are from Soul\, Funk\, Hip Hop and even Classical\, these styles have always influenced his dextrous style of production. Making him one versatile individual.

Following their near sell-out 2ndBirthday\, The Source returns withtwo more very special guests fromthe history of dance music?.. Manchester legend Stu Allen and theUK?s no.1 female jungle/DnB DJ\,Storm.

Stu Allen
After taking upDJing in 1982\, Stu Allen soon began to make a name for himself in the Manchester area and in 1986 he was asked to temporarily fill in for a DJ on Piccadilly Radio. The reaction was so great from listenersthat he was signed on permanentlyand began to host a show featuring Hip Hop and a new style of musiccalled House. When the station'sratings improved massively\, Stu produced a Soul show called Souled Out and a Hip Hop show called Bus 'Diss. He would also have a House hour\, which would feature the seamless mixing he is now known for. AsHouse music swept across the UK in the late 80's\, Stu and his radioshows became an inspiration to thousands of young people in the Northwest and he soon found himself headlining at some of the biggest raves around the UK such as AmnesiaHouse\, Fantazia\, Dreamscape\, Pandemonium and the Eclipse. Throughout the 90?s\, he presented thriceweekly dance shows on Key103FM alongside regular stints in Ibiza andTenerife packing out 2000+ capacity venues on a regular basis. During this time Stu also enjoyed monumental success as a recoding artist and producer\, releasing tracks under such guises as Visa & Clock\,scoring no less than 14 top 40 hits\, of which 4 were top 10 which then led him to mix and produce thenow legendary Kiss Mix shows (Mon-Sat evenings) which became the most listened to shows in London between 99-00.

English Drum'n'Bass DJ duo Kemistry and Stormwere not only recognized for their talents\, but also for being successful women in a male-dominated genre of music. The pair were a unique and pioneering element on thescene\, as the only female duo in the circuit\, each with a strong identity\, which perfectly complemented each other?s style. After managing Goldie?s Metalheadz label in the mid 90?s and having releases on the legendary Reinforced label\, they swiftly became regular headliners on the Jungle/DnB circuitwhich led to them releasing an album on the legendary DJ Kicks series from respected label Studio !K7. The release of this lead to thetwo friends DJing around the worlduntil tragically Kemistry was suddenly killed in a car accident asthey were returning from a gig inApril 1999. Determined to carry onin memory of her friend and withher passion for music\, Storm has continued her DJ career and her skills and dedication to the scene have been recognised by her winningthe accolade of Best Female DJ atthe National Drum and Bass Awardsfor the last 4 years!

Guildford community radio stationKane FM have put together a twelveperson strong team of cyclists who will tackle the challenging London - Brighton Bike Ride on June 17th.

The team plan to raise over �2000 for the worthy British HeartFoundation charity by cycling 54 miles in total\, and although they are already halfway to meeting their target\, they are on a mission todrum up as much support for thismighty cause as possible.

One such fundraising venture is the "Beats for Hearts" club night that willtake place at Backline Live on Friday 8th June in association withwell known Guildford promoters Rotation Events. Special guest Survival will play alongside a host of Kane FM DJs. Entry is �5 all nightwith all proceeds being donated to the British Heart Foundation.

Since their first show at Hollywood?s Hotel Caf� in December 2008\, Fitzand co. have toured with Maroon 5\,played to thousands at Colorado?s world famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre\, shared the stage New Year?sEve with Sharon Jones and the DapKings\, and performed on KCRW?sesteemed show\, Morning Becomes Eclectic\, all this on the strength oftheir stellar five-song EP\, Songsfor a Breakup\, Vol. 1.

For somebands\, it takes a lifetime to build this success\, but few performersdeliver an unrestrained blast ofsoul-clapping\, get-down-on-the-floor\, moneymaker shakers like Fitz and the Tantrums. It all began when? [cue flashback sounds]

?I got a call from my ex-girlfriend\,? Fitz explains\, ?And shesaid\, ?My neighbor is moving outin a hurry and has to sell everything. And\, he has this organ??

Fitz\, the Svengali frontman of the crew\, describes the find like the discovery of a compass\, or thattreasure map in Goonies\, which undoubtedly leads to adventure. Notone to say no\, Fitz called some piano movers\, cashed in some favors\,and seven hours later\, the organwent from the curb to his living room. That night\, Fitz stationed himself in front of that vintage instrument and wrote a blue-eyed soulanthem\, ?Breaking the Chains ofLove.?

?Sometimes\, the MusicGods just give it to you\,? Fitzsays.

The overflow of inspiration startled Fitz. He?d spent years in L.A.?s music industry\, writing music and working in a studiowith Beck producer\, Mickey Petralia. But at those 88 keys\, just seven hours after that organ dropped into his life\, Fitz had finally found his voice.

?I?ve always been a singer\,? Fitz says\, ?butwith so much music\, I felt that Iwas trying to push a square peg through a round hole. I was being not true to myself\, and it never felt right until I wrote that song\, and I sang like that. I thought\, this feels so real\, so natural.?

Fitz shared his vision with long-time friend and saxophonist\, JamesKing\, who immediately connected with the sound. While the electric guitar drives rock\, the saxophone takes center stage in soul\, and that?s the way Fitz likes it. ?Wewanted to find a new vocabulary for the genre\, I wanted to make a record without any guitars. Could we make a huge sound with out any guitars??

Depthcuts is Yorkshire's longest running drum'n'bass and hip-hop night. Starting in 2002\, it has since run club events\, free parties and festival stages around thecountry. Now celebrating its 10thyear\, along with London-based sister night LDN DC\, it has showcasedmany of the biggest names in dnb\,bass music and hip-hop.

DOM & ROLAND (NO U-TURN RECORDS JUNGLE SPECIAL)

Dom started out releasing tunes through ?No-U-Turn? records in 1994\, a small independent label that at thetime was gaining a large amount ofrespect from the then famous radio DJ?s of the day including thenow highly credited Grooverider\, who helped him out immensely at this time providing almost blanket coverage of Dom?s music on his shows. Dom remains to this day at theforefront of music technology andhas always found himself happiestin the studio. He is proud to have never ?sold out? to producethe more pop-orientated\, moneymaking ?coffee table? drum and bass\, and remains at the pinnacle ofthe underground scene. When we originally approached Dom we asked for a jungle set and he came back saying he?d play a No-U-Turn records showcase so he?s bang up it.Sets like this don?t come roundoften so get your tickets well inadvance.


BAD COMPANY UK (CLASSICS SET)

Bad Company UK havebeen largely responsible for shaping the sounds of drum and bass that we hear today. Since bursting onto the scene they have played theworld over\, leaving a trail of devastation in their path. With too many tunes to mention and precisionmixing we invite Maldini to stepup and perform a classics set fromthe era that defined the group.


RANDALL (94-98 AWOL JUNGLE SET)
Randall is definitely a natural when it comes to mixing\, sayingthat the basics took him only a week to learn back in the mid 80s. However\, he still had to continue refining his skills by studying music and making tapes every week. Randall's style has always been fluid and probably always will\, but changes in his selection have been noticeable in the past couple of years\, with more emphasis on darkside flavas than before. This can beillustrated crudely by his transformation from AWOL resident to Metalheadz regular. Randall is simplyreflecting what's going on aroundhim and\, even though some might say his sound has got 'darker'\, he inhabits that overlap between 'jump-up' jungle and 'darkside' drum &bass. BMT feel that Randall has been by far the best act we have puton over the past year so really look forward to asking him back forone final rinse out.
